What is Prepaid Billing?
What if you paid for your electricity in advance? Much like a prepaid credit card, our prepaid program allows you to add money when it's easy for you — whether that's every few days, weekly or biweekly. The credit you build pays for your electricity. When your prepaid balance is getting low, we'll send you an email or text message so you can add more money.
You'll use SmartHub to see your electric use in average dollars per day. This can help you track and manage your energy use in real-time! If your credit reaches $0.00, your electricity turns off. It will turn back when your prepaid credit is -$25.00.

Important to Know
- The Prepay Program is available to qualifying residential members with a 200-amp or smaller electric service.
- Members must have an Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) with remote capability.
- You must have an active SmartHub account to view your balance and set up notifications when you need to deposit additional funds.
- A monthly facility fee still applies, based on our residential rate schedule.
- If your balance reaches $0, your service will be disconnected.
- Refunds will be issued for any remaining credit after final billing, upon disconnection, which will be applied to another active account or sent as a check.
